Opened in 1937, Delaware Park became one of the first “racinos” when opening up a casino in 1994. The main track is one mile in length and the turf course is seven furlongs. The signature race is the Delaware Handicap, a top race for fillies and mares.
Delaware Park generally opens in May and runs through October each year. Racing is conducted primarily on a Wednesday through Saturday schedule. The Delaware Handicap will be run on Sunday, September 28 in 2025.
The $400,000 Delaware Handicap (G3) is the marquee event of the racing season at Delaware Park. The 2025 edition will be contested in September.
