The track opened for racing in 1962 and had a significant reconstruction in 2004 and now has a casino. The main track is one mile in length.
In 2025 Finger Lakes opens its doors for live racing on April 28 and will run until November 26. Racing is typically conducted at Finger Lakes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week throughout the meeting.
