Opened in 1988 in Oklahoma City to much fanfare, the racetrack debuted a synthetic surface called Equitrack but was later replaced with a traditional dirt surface. The main track is a mile in length and there is an inner turf course that measures seven furlongs.
The 2025 quarter-hours meeting will conduct racing from March 6 to May 31. Thoroughbreds take over on August 16 and that meet continues until December 19.
Quarterhorse Meeting:
Heritage Place Futurity: This is one of the richest races at Remington Park, with an estimated purse of $1 million for 2-year-olds, run at 350 yards.
Oklahoma Futurity: A historic race with a long tradition, run at 300 yards for 2-year-olds. The 2024 season includes trials with a final purse of $400,000.
Remington Park Futurity: Specifically for Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds, this race has a large purse, estimated at $1.1 million in recent years, and is run at 330 yards.
Debbie Schauf Memorial Remington Park Championship: A Grade 1 event for 3-year-olds and up, run at 440 yards with a purse of $250,000 in recent years.
Oklahoma Derby: For 3-year-olds, this race is run at 350 yards with a significant purse, often around $250,000.
Heritage Place Derby: Another high-stakes race for 3-year-olds, held at 400 yards with an estimated purse of $250,000.
Thoroughbred Meeting:
Oklahoma Derby: Known as the richest race in Oklahoma for Thoroughbreds, with a purse of $400,000. It’s a Grade 3 race and a highlight of the Thoroughbred season in the fall.
Remington Springboard Mile: A stakes event for 2-year-olds, it’s the richest race for juveniles at Remington Park, offering $300,000 in purses. It’s also a qualifying race for the Kentucky Derby.
Governor’s Cup: This is the first stakes race of the Thoroughbred season, offering $100,000. It’s known for drawing a competitive field of older horses.
